POSITION: Reference Librarian (Part-time)DEPARTMENT: University LibraryREPORTS TO: Associate LibrarianWORK SCHEDULE: Fully on campusPRIMARY FUNCTION:Position is responsible for providing reference services, library instruction, collection development, producing library material, and assisting in other library related projects.This position provides scheduled reference hours & library instruction, electronic journal subscriptions maintenance, collection development, statistical analysis.This position provides scheduled reference hours & library instruction, electronic journal subscriptions maintenance, collection development, statistical analysis. Work hours vary whereby some evening and weekend hours may be required.Qualifications:MLS from an ALA accredited program or enrolled in an accredited MLS programLibrary research techniquesKnowledge of library organization principlesExcellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of current reference and instruction toolsSupervisory skillsKnowledge of personal computers and electronic resourcesDuties:Provide reference services and information about the library's collections, services, and policiesConduct library instruction sessionsAssist in statistical analysis of library usageCollection DevelopmentGeneral circulation operationsProduce library promotional and instructional material Supporting library staff in such services as reciprocal borrowing, acquisitions, and catalogingSupervising student workersOther library-related duties as assigned.
