Referral Coordinator - FPG Centralized Access Center (University Parkway, Sarasota)

Job Summary:

The Referral Coordinator supports clinical teams, patients and family members by managing referrals and/or authorizations for the medical group. The Referral Coordinator is also responsible for processing internal and external referrals and authorizations from orders prescribed, by the provider, in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system within the Outpatient Ambulatory setting.

 

The department will provide centralized insurance authorization support for patient visits and high-tech imaging services across all of FPG’s medical practices.

Required Qualifications:

- Require one (1) year of previous healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prefer effective communication skills including ability to interact professionally with physician offices and interdepartmentally.
- Prefer general knowledge of medical insurance and terminology.
- Prefer knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and current CPT coding.
- Prefer patient registration and/or billing experience.
- Prefer the ability to analyze problems and offer solutions, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Mandatory Education:

HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

Preferred Education:

AD: Associate's Degree

8am - 4:30pm
