In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating patient referrals and ensuring seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers, ultimately contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional care. **Responsibilities** - Coordinate patient referrals to specialists and ensure timely processing of referral requests. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. - Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for referred patients. - Communicate effectively with patients regarding their referral status and next steps. - Collaborate with medical staff to streamline referral processes. - Assist in managing medical records and documentation related to referrals. - Provide support for billing inquiries related to referrals and insurance claims. - Stay informed about changes in managed care policies and procedures. **Qualifications** - Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably as a referral coordinator or similar role. - Strong knowledge of managed care principles and insurance verification processes. - Familiarity with CPT and ICD coding systems (ICD-9 and ICD-10). - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities. - Proficient in medical terminology and record management. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
