Job Summary:The Fabricator is responsible for building, assembling, modifying, and preparing molds, forms, frames, and other components used in the production of custom refractory products. This position works from drawings, measurements, and job specifications to ensure components are fabricated accurately and ready for production.
Responsibilities:- Read and interpret drawings, measurements, and work orders
- Fabricate and assemble molds, forms, frames, and production components
- Measure, cut, drill, grind, fit, and assemble materials to specification
- Operate common fabrication equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Perform basic welding or metal fabrication when required
- Modify or repair existing molds and production equipment/components
- Verify dimensions using tape measures and other measuring devices
- Prepare fabricated pieces for the next stage of production
- Inspect completed work for accuracy and quality
- Follow production schedules and prioritize rush jobs when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow plant and equipment safety procedures
- Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel
Requirements:- Previous fabrication, manufacturing, or related hands-on experience preferred
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and other measuring devices
- Ability to read and follow drawings, measurements, and work orders
- Basic welding or metal fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
