Job Summary

We are currently seeking immediate applicants for a full-time Refrigeration & Ammonia Technician. The position is responsible for the overall plant refrigeration system.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains and troubleshoots evaporators, heat exchangers, liquid ammonia transfer pumps, purging system, pump-out system, circulation pumps, makeup equipment, valves & condensers.
  • Maintenance and repair of compressed air systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of glycol system.
  • Water treatment, including but not limited to chemical testing, reverse osmosis system operation and de-aeration system operation and maintenance.
  • Boiler system maintenance, including pump/motor replacement & alignment.
  • Required involvement in safety response team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Degree in HVAC or equivalent from a technical school or college, or minimum 3 years' experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems and components.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment and possess excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate strong mechanical skills, complete confined space training and successfully pass respirator fit testing.
  • Must be able to pass a post-offer drug screening, occupational health exam and background check.
