Position Description
Performs repairs, preventive maintenance, and operational support on facility systems, manufacturing equipment, and industrial refrigeration/ammonia systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Reports to Facilities Manager Peer relationships include Maintenance Supervisors, Production Supervisors, and Hourly employees.
Follow all safety, PSM (Process Safety Management), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance (PM), and repairs on production equipment, facility systems, and refrigeration/ammonia systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration system issues using technical knowledge, tools, and documentation.
Repair or replace components such as motors, valves, pumps, compressors, belts, bearings, and system controls.
Operate, monitor, and support industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, evaporators, condensers, vessels, and associated piping systems.
Complete required system rounds, including documentation of readings, conditions, and any abnormalities related to ammonia/refrigeration systems.
Support safe startup, shutdown, and operational adjustments of refrigeration systems in alignment with plant needs and safety requirements.
Respond to equipment and system breakdowns, including refrigeration and utility systems, to minimize downtime and ensure safe recovery.
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance work, PM completion, refrigeration logs, and system checks.
Adhere to all lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and ammonia safety protocols.
Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance activities with minimal operational disruption.
Identify and drive improvements in equipment reliability, system performance, and maintenance practices.
Support and participate in audits, inspections, and compliance activities related to PSM, safety, and food safety programs.
Demonstrate ownership of assigned systems and areas, including identifying gaps, developing solutions, and executing improvements.
Continue to build skills across mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems in alignment with pay-for-skills progression.

Experience Required
Experience in industrial maintenance, refrigeration, or ammonia systems in a manufacturing environment.
Ammonia Operator certification or demonstrated progression within a PSM-covered refrigeration system preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, P&IDs, and system diagrams.
Working knowledge of mechanical systems, with exposure to refrigeration, utilities, or process systems.
Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in an industrial setting.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Education Required
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, refrigeration, or related field preferred.
Additional Information
Alternative Work Schedule (AWS), 3 days and 4 days per week, alternating weeks, 6 PM 6:30 AM Estimated Hours Worked per Week: 36 or 48 PPE will be provided by the plant.
