Refrigeration Technician

Our client is seeking a hands-on Refrigeration Technician to build, test, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration systems and subassemblies. This role combines mechanical and electromechanical assembly work with system testing and validation, requiring strong technical aptitude and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with refrigeration components, reading schematics, and diagnosing system issues in a manufacturing or production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble refrigeration systems, components, and electromechanical subassemblies from engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
• Perform functional testing and validation of subassemblies and completed systems to ensure performance and quality standards are met.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration and electrical issues, performing repairs and corrective actions as needed.
• Read and interpret refrigeration and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Document test results, inspections, repairs, and production activities accurately.
• Work closely with engineering and senior technicians to identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Operate and configure PCs within a Windows-based environment to support testing, documentation, and system setup.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and quality-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with refrigeration systems, components, and related assembly processes.
• Working knowledge of refrigerants, brazing, charging, and refrigerant recovery procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and refrigeration schematics.
• Mechanical and electromechanical assembly experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and meet production schedules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on assembly work throughout the shift.
