Job Description

A leading marine transportation and logistics organization is seeking a Reefer Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigerated containers (reefers) and generator sets (Gen-Sets) that support temperature-controlled cargo operations. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and testing of refrigeration and electrical systems to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience with refrigeration equipment, diesel-powered generator systems, HVAC/refrigeration components, or industrial refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities:
* Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair refrigerated containers and Gen-Set equipment
* Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems
* Diagnose refrigeration, electrical, fuel, and control system issues
* Monitor and record reefer temperatures and equipment performance
* Perform pre-trip inspections and functional testing of equipment
* Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
* Document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment status in electronic systems


Qualifications:
* Reefer Technician I
* Minimum 1 year of experience repairing:
* Refrigeration equipment
* HVAC systems
* Container refrigeration systems
* Diesel-powered generator systems (Gen-Sets)
* Similar industrial equipment
* Understanding of AC/DC electrical troubleshooting
* Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
* Refrigeration or HVAC certification is preferred
* Reefer Technician II
* Minimum 2 years of experience repairing and maintaining refrigerated containers or industrial refrigeration systems
* Refrigeration certification preferred
* Ability to solder copper and brass lines using oxygen/acetylene equipment
* Experience troubleshooting relays, control boards, compressors, fuel systems, and electrical systems
* Experience replacing compressors, motors, control panels, stators, and armatures
* Advanced AC/DC electrical troubleshooting experience
* Ability to read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams
* MIG or Stick welding experience is a plus
