Regional Account Manager

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Provide leadership and direction for a group of dedicated drivers.  Ensure optimum utilization of company assets while meeting the daily needs of the customer.  Work closely with the customer to grow the business, while at the same time control the costs.  Be the direct liaison between the account and Maverick, ensuring information is shared effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in making sure the account is profitable by meeting/exceedingly daily, weekly, and quarterly set standards by using management determined KPI (Key Performance Indicators).  Acts as a direct liaison between customers and Maverick management, ensuring information is shared effectively.  
• Manage a set number of Maverick customers effectively.  Maintain and understand all the tools on the regional dashboard.  Performs logistics operations such as accepting, building, and dispatching loads for a set customer or customers.  
• Works with Regional Logistics on loads and truck distribution.  Ensures optimum utilization of company assets while meeting the daily needs of the customer.  Works closely with management to grow the business, while at the same time limit costs.  
• Possess basic market knowledge of customers, rates, and lanes in dispatch areas responsible for.  Responsible for understanding and working with customer's TMS (Transportation Management System) systems.  
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending and participating in appropriate training.  Ensures company confidentiality.  

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Prefer a broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc.  Equivalent to a four-year college degree, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months of related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Normal working conditions as found within an office setting, wherein there is controlled temperature and a low noise level, plus a minimum of distractions.
