    Job Description

    WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It's at the core of why we do what we do at ALO-it's our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That's the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

    OVERVIEW

The Regional Asset Protection Manager, Midwest will help create, develop, lead, and maximize all aspects of the Asset Protection function for ALO sanctuaries across assigned districts in the Midwest United States and Canada.

The role will ideally be based in Chicago and will work in direct partnership with regional Asset Protection counterparts, Retail Operations leadership, and the Director of Asset Protection and Safety.

In this role, you will use proven methodologies, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and strong field engagement to develop and execute a comprehensive Asset Protection program that supports the ALO vision and continued brand expansion.

The Regional Asset Protection Manager will embrace artificial intelligence as a force multiplier-using AI-enabled tools to enhance analysis, accelerate pattern and anomaly detection, improve investigative efficiency, and support proactive, data-informed decision-making.

This position will support a growing, multi-district portfolio of sanctuaries throughout the Midwest and Canada.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Shrink Reduction and Operational Excellence

    • Analyze inventory shrink results and work closely with Retail Operations, district leadership, and store leadership to develop strategies addressing external theft, internal theft, fraud, and operational errors.
    • Drive shrink-reduction goals throughout assigned districts and consistently communicate company Asset Protection initiatives to field leadership and store teams.
    • Assess high-shrink and high-risk sanctuaries to identify sources of loss and develop measurable action plans.
    • Conduct comprehensive risk and site-vulnerability assessments to identify deficiencies and recommend measures that protect employees, guests, merchandise, property, and other company assets.
    • Assist with strategic initiatives and contribute to the successful development and implementation of Asset Protection objectives.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual Asset Protection summaries, including trend analysis of relevant key performance indicators.
    • Build effective field partnerships that support sales and operational goals while protecting company assets.
    • Support additional Asset Protection projects and responsibilities as assigned.

    Data, Technology and Artificial Intelligence

    • Leverage exception-based reporting, POS data, inventory reporting, RFID, CCTV, case-management systems, and other analytical resources to identify theft, fraud, operational loss, and emerging risk trends.
    • Use AI-enabled tools to increase the speed, consistency, and effectiveness of Asset Protection analysis, reporting, investigations, training, and risk assessment.
    • Apply artificial intelligence as a force multiplier to recognize patterns, prioritize investigative opportunities, summarize complex information, and strengthen preventive strategies.
    • Identify responsible opportunities to automate repetitive processes and improve the efficiency of the Asset Protection function.
    • Evaluate AI-generated information critically and apply sound professional judgment before making recommendations or taking action.
    • Ensure AI tools are used responsibly and in accordance with company policies, confidentiality requirements, data-security standards, privacy obligations, and applicable laws.
    • Partner with Asset Protection leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify, recommend, test, and deploy new technology and process improvements related to shrink, security, safety, investigations, and cash management.

    Investigations

    • Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external theft, fraud, organized retail crime, cash loss, merchandise loss, integrity concerns, and other conduct that may result in loss to the company.
    • Conduct internal investigations using POS exception reporting, transaction data, inventory information, CCTV, case-management systems, interviews, and other available resources.
    • Conduct interviews with subjects, witnesses, and other relevant individuals in accordance with company standards and applicable laws.
    • Ensure all internal and external investigations are completed promptly, objectively, confidentially, and in compliance with corporate and legal requirements.
    • Partner with Retail Operations, store and district leadership, People & Culture, and Legal to determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
    • Partner with law enforcement and industry organizations when necessary.
    • Prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive investigative reports, findings, and recommendations.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive employee, customer, investigative, and company information.

    Physical Security and Risk Management

    • Review, advise on, and manage physical-security standards for sanctuaries within the assigned area of responsibility.
    • Manage physical-security systems and required training, including camera systems, intrusion alarms, access controls, keys, safe codes, locking mechanisms, and related technologies.
    • Conduct site-risk and vulnerability assessments to identify conditions that could result in employee harm, financial loss, property damage, or business interruption.
    • Recommend security enhancements based on risk, incident history, store environment, operating conditions, and business needs.
    • Support new sanctuary openings by conducting security assessments, coordinating security-system readiness, and delivering Asset Protection training.
    • Manage third-party security providers, post orders, service expectations, and ad hoc security needs throughout the assigned region.
    • Optimize the deployment of security resources based on location risk, operating needs, foot traffic, local events, and emerging conditions.
    • Ensure physical-security and surveillance practices in Canada comply with applicable privacy, licensing, employment, and surveillance requirements.

    Incident and Crisis Response

    • Review and respond to reported incidents involving theft, shoplifting, internal dishonesty, inappropriate behavior, workplace violence, threats, cash shortages, vandalism, robbery, burglary, and other events affecting ALO employees, guests, or assets.
    • Maintain awareness of regional conditions that could affect operations, including civil unrest, protests, severe weather, natural disasters, and workplace-violence concerns.
    • Provide timely support and guidance to district and store leadership during elevated security or safety situations.
    • Coordinate incident responses with Retail Operations, People & Culture, Legal, law enforcement, emergency services, and security providers as appropriate.
    • Support incident follow-up, corrective actions, and preventive measures designed to reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
    • Remain accessible and prepared to respond to store-based emergencies when necessary.

    Field Engagement, Training and Partnerships

    • Build strong partnerships with district managers, store leaders, and cross-functional teams throughout the Midwest and Canada.
    • Coach and educate store teams on Asset Protection awareness, internal and external theft prevention, operational controls, fraud prevention, workplace safety, and incident reporting.
    • Deliver Asset Protection and physical-security training for new sanctuary openings and existing locations.
    • Serve as a trusted Asset Protection resource for field leadership and store teams.
    • Support corporate initiatives by serving as a liaison with law enforcement, government agencies, security professionals, and retail-industry partners.
    • Network with Asset Protection and loss-prevention professionals to exchange best practices, investigative intelligence, and information regarding emerging trends.
    • Pursue external-development opportunities, including webinars, conferences, professional training, and industry events.
    • Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, safety, and responsible use of technology.

    QUALIFICATIONS
