The Controller will lead accounting and financial operations across multiple North American manufacturing facilities. This role oversees financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering with plant and business leaders to improve financial performance, control costs, and support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day accounting function across multiple manufacturing operations.
Ensure accurate and timely financial close, reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis.
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory, payroll accounting, and cost accounting.
Establish and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance reporting in partnership with business leaders.
Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, standard costs, inventory valuation, product costing, and cost variance analysis.
Monitor financial performance across facilities and identify opportunities to improve profitability, working capital, and cost structure.
Coordinate external audits and support tax, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Provide senior leadership with clear analysis of financial performance, business risks, and opportunities.
Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting processes, and ERP capabilities.
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
CPA and/or advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant manufacturing experience.
3+ years of experience leading or supervising accounting professionals.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and manufacturing accounting.
Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, product costing, and multi-site operations.
Proven experience leading external audits and maintaining audit-ready financial processes.
Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
