Essential Duties Provide bank management with timely and accurate information relating to the overall credit quality of its loan portfolio. Evaluate and approve complex commercial credit requests, modifications, renewals, and portfolio management actions. Ensure consistent application of credit policy, underwriting standards, and risk rating methodologies. Identify emerging credit risks, concentrations, and borrower-specific concerns. Assist the Special Assets officer with oversight and management of the all substandard loans in the supported regional portfolio. Assist the Chief Credit Officer with oversight and management of the all past due and non-accrual loans in the supported regional portfolio. Participate in the review, development, and implementation of the bank's loan policies/practices and credit risk review policies/procedures. Assist in expanding credit product offerings and creating efficiencies in the bank's credit delivery and risk monitoring process. Provide guidance on loan structure, collateral, guarantor support, design, pricing and repayment sources. Review and analyze customer financial statements, specifically to determine cash flow on existing and new customers. Develop pertinent information for lenders and loan committees for use in the approval process of new, renewal and extension loans. Evaluate quality of financial information submitted prior to performing analysis to determine if there is a need for additional information. Review and decision loans as necessary within assigned lending authority and related limits. Review credit relationships to determine adequacy of underwriting. Participate in client meetings and prospect discussions, as appropriate. Concurrently approve loan requests/relationships from $500,000 to $2,500,000 with Regional President. Review and summarize all available business and/or personal financial information on relationships. Prepare and submit various loan reports to the BOD, Loan Committees and SO Committee. Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, loan reviews and external credit reviews. Support the bank's strategic growth initiatives and market expansion efforts.
Perform all job functions in compliance with the requirements of banking laws and regulations. Perform other duties as required by supervisory personnel.
The Right Person 10+ years successful experience within the credit administration function. Broad knowledge of lending, credit and loan operations management. Demonstrated experience in the use of outstanding judgement and initiative in making decisions for which there is little precedent. Demonstrated experience in the formulation of loan and credit policies, as well as underwriting standards. A skilled contributor to the strategic planning process, including loan product and service development. Degree in banking & finance, accounting or related field.
