The Regional Director is responsible for the operational, financial, and team performance of a multifamily portfolio in Richmond, VA, currently consisting of approximately seven properties and 1,129 units. This role provides direct leadership to Property Managers, oversees property performance, supports capital projects, and ensures alignment with company goals and policies.
Essential Job Functions
Oversee daily operations, leasing performance, resident experience, and property conditions throughout the assigned portfolio.
Conduct regular site visits and quarterly inspections to review staffing, maintenance, resident concerns, and overall property performance.
Partner with corporate teams to resolve operational concerns and improve processes.
Directly supervise, coach, and support Property Managers within the region.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide performance feedback, and lead accountability efforts.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee engagement initiatives in partnership with Human Resources.
Oversee capital improvements, renovations, deferred maintenance, vendor performance, and project budgets.
Review monthly financials, leasing reports, capital expenditures, and property performance against budget.
Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, and applicable housing laws and regulations.
Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, investor tours, and property business plans as needed.
Represent the company professionally and provide operational insight for regional and company initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree required; CPM, CAPS, or similar certification preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of multifamily experience, including at least 3 years in a Regional Manager or Director-level role.
Experience overseeing portfolios of 1,000+ units preferred.
Strong leadership, financial analysis, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Yardi and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
Ability to travel within the region and to the Philadelphia Home Office up to 60%.

Ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate, and use hands to perform job duties.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
Ability to maintain high ethical standards and exercise sound judgment.
