Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Regional Director of Clinical Operations to provide clinical leadership and oversight across multiple skilled nursing facilities in North Carolina. This position will be responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, clinical outcomes, and consistent nursing practices throughout the region.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with extensive skilled nursing experience who can effectively coach facility nursing teams, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive clinical excellence across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing teams across multiple skilled nursing facilities.
  • Partner with facility Administrators, DONs, and Executive Leadership to achieve clinical and operational goals.
  • Monitor clinical outcomes, quality measures, and key nursing performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, federal, and applicable North Carolina regulations.
  • Conduct regular facility visits, clinical assessments, and quality reviews.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support facilities through state and federal surveys and assist with survey readiness.
  • Monitor infection prevention and control, risk management, falls, pressure injuries, rehospitalizations, and other clinical quality indicators.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Directors of Nursing and nursing leadership.
  • Identify trends and implement strategies to improve resident outcomes and quality of care.
  • Assist with clinical education, staff development, and leadership training.
  • Promote evidence-based nursing practices and consistent clinical standards across the region.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, Quality, and other corporate leadership.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and development of nursing leadership.
  • Assist with clinical policies, procedures, and regulatory initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical leadership experience in skilled nursing required.
  • Current RN license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field preferred.
  • Multi-facility or regional clinical leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, CMS requirements, survey processes, and quality measures.
  • Proven experience improving clinical outcomes and developing nursing leaders.
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention, quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout North Carolina.
