Overview:

Regional Director of Operations

Thrive Physical Therapy Partners is seeking a Regional Director of Operations to support and grow a portfolio of outpatient therapy practices across our partner network.

This is not a top-down operations role. Thrive is built around true partnership with local practice leaders, which means the right RDO leads through trust, influence, collaboration, and thoughtful execution. You will partner closely with Practice Managers, providers, front desk teams, and Thrive support leaders to strengthen clinic operations, improve patient and provider experience, and help each practice reach its full potential.

Why Thrive

At Thrive, our model is built on true partnership, collaborative leadership, and respect for the local identity of each practice. We support strong local practices by bringing operational resources, strategic support, and collaborative leadership while preserving what makes each practice special.

This is an opportunity for an operations leader who wants to build, coach, influence, and create meaningful value across a growing network of therapy practices.

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

As an RDO, you will help practices create value in a way that respects their local culture while aligning teams around shared goals.

You will:

  • Partner with Practice Managers and local leaders to improve operational performance, team engagement, and patient experience
  • Support execution of each practice’s Value Creation Plan, including growth, staffing, scheduling, productivity, profitability, and patient retention priorities
  • Build trust with practice teams through consistent communication, transparency, problem-solving, and reliable follow-through
  • Coach and develop current and future clinic leaders, creating a culture where feedback, accountability, and psychological safety can coexist
  • Use data, financial insight, and sound judgment to identify opportunities and prioritize high-impact initiatives
  • Strengthen front desk and administrative operations so providers can work efficiently and patients receive a consistent, high-quality experience
  • Partner cross-functionally with Thrive leaders in operations, talent, finance, compliance, integration, and growth
  • Travel regularly to assigned practices to build relationships, understand local dynamics, and support execution
Qualifications:

What You Bring

The strongest candidate will be an operations leader who can balance business discipline with emotional intelligence. You know how to move work forward without relying on authority alone, and you are comfortable influencing experienced practice leaders in a partnership-oriented environment.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Physical Therapist credential strongly preferred; Occupational Therapist and Speech-Language Pathologist candidates with strong operations leadership experience will also be considered.
  • 3-5+ years of healthcare operations leadership experience, ideally in outpatient physical, occupational, or speech therapy
  • Multi-site leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Strong financial and operational acumen, including comfort with clinic-level performance metrics and P&L management
  • Proven ability to build trust, coach leaders, and align teams around shared goals
  • Strong communication, judgment, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience improving workflows, scheduling, staffing, patient retention, and front desk operations
  • Comfort working in a growing, evolving organization where each practice may require a different leadership approach
  • Clinical licensure or healthcare management certification is a plus, but not required
  • Ability and willingness to travel to practices as needed
