Hartford HealthCare Rehabilitation Network (HHCRN) is the premier rehabilitation provider in Connecticut. We provide rehabilitation services across the continuum - acute care hospitals, inpatient rehab units, long term care facilities, sub-acute rehabilitation, homecare, outpatient clinics, and in community settings such as senior centers, work sites, and schools and colleges. We offer a variety of specialties, including oncology, lymphedema, pelvic health, sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology and are known for our commitment to high quality, customer focused outcomes in all levels of care.

Position Summary:

The Regional Director will be responsible for driving rehabilitation excellence throughout the East Region, supporting both Backus and Windham Hospital's Rehabilitation Network. The Director, having responsibility for both inpatient and outpatient services across multiple locations, will work to further the Rehabilitation Network's mission by ensuring high quality patient care, growing services and developing new programs for the East Region that are in support of Hartford HealthCare's strategic plan, goals and objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop best practices in delivery of rehabilitation services, including evidence based clinical standards of care and standard work, and ensure ongoing compliance through the development and implementation of education and clinical competencies
  • Collaborate with Directors and Team Managers to develop strategies and countermeasures to ensure achievement of key rehabilitation performance metrics
  • Develop, coordinate and ensure successful implementation of rehab programs that support and align with the division's strategic initiatives
  • Grow existing market share and resource new programmatic initiatives based on demands
  • Engage and assist in appropriate business development and customer service initiatives at both HHCRN and the East Region to meet stakeholder and business needs and optimize the patient experience
  • Communicate a compelling vision or sense of purpose for change and demonstrate the ability to energize stakeholders and sustain their commitment to changes in approaches, processes, and strategies
  • Ensure the team uses the necessary resources to meet and exceed a standard of excellence, build efficiencies in processes and innovate new and creative ways to improve the work
  • Develop, coordinate, prepare, and implement project plans that support the identified business development designed to improve operations and customer service
  • Supports the advancement of the Operating Model and facilitates utilization of the Lean process
  • Establish and adhere to project timelines, outline resources required for successful implementation of initiatives, and monitor results to ensure goals are met

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master''s degree is preferred
  • Eight plus years of progressive leadership is required
  • Inpatient and Outpatient rehabilitation experience is required
  • Current Connecticut license in good standing as either a Physical Therapist (PT, DPT), Occupational Therapist (OT) or Speech Therapist (SLP) is preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization and share knowledge, ideas and information
  • Excellent leadership skills. Ability to coach, mentor and influence
  • Experience in change management and formally trained in project management disciplines
  • Able to understand problem situations, solve problems and independently assess a wide variety of tasks in order to effectively take action to identify solutions to benefit the business initiative
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and proper process application to project or new business/service venture
  • Ability to balance financial, quality, people and customer expectation appropriate to business situation
  • Ability to analyze and develop key financial and operational metrics
  • Strong communications skills required - both written and verbal
