Regional Environmental Consultant – State Veterans HomesJob Summary: The Regional Environmental Consultant provides leadership and oversight for plant operations and maintenance services across multiple long-term care facilities within an assigned region. This role ensures safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments for residents, staff, and visitors while supporting facility maintenance teams and aligning operations with regulatory and organizational standards. Travel is required and extensive throughout assigned region.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPlant Operations & Life SafetyOversee maintenance and plant operations for multiple long-term care facilitiesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, Life Safety Code (LSC), NFPA, OSHA, and state licensure requirementsSupport Life Safety Code surveys, fire inspections, and environmental audits; lead corrective action plansEnsure proper operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire alarm, sprinkler systems)Preventive Maintenance & SafetyImplement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtimeEnsure timely completion and documentation of work ordersPromote a culture of safety, emergency preparedness, and infection prevention within plant operationsSupport emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activitiesLeadership & Staff DevelopmentProvide direction, coaching, and support to facility Maintenance Directors and plant operations staffAssist with hiring, onboarding, training and performance managementStandardize maintenance processes and best practices across the regionCapital Projects & Vendor ManagementSupport capital improvement projects, renovations, and equipment replacementCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality, safety, and cost controlReview contracts, proposals, and service agreements related to plant operationsBudgeting & ReportingAssist with maintenance budgets, capital planning, and expense managementMonitor regional maintenance metrics and provide reports to regional and corporate leadershipIdentify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficienciesCollaboration & CommunicationPartner with Administrators, Regional leadership, Infection Prevention, and Safety teamsServe as a regional resource for plant operations questions and problem resolutionCommunicate effectively with surveyors, inspectors, vendors and internal stakeholders#J-18808-Ljbffr
