Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee.Job SummaryThe Regional Environmental Consultant provides leadership and oversight for plant operations and maintenance services across multiple long-term care facilities within an assigned region. This role ensures safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments for residents, staff, and visitors while supporting facility maintenance teams and aligning operations with regulatory and organizational standards. Travel is required and is extensive throughout assigned region.Essential FunctionsOversee maintenance and plant operations for multiple long-term care facilitiesEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, Life Safety Code (LSC), NFPA, OSHA, and state licensure requirementsSupport Life Safety Code surveys, fire inspections, and environmental audits; lead corrective action plansEnsure proper operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, fire alarm, sprinkler systems)Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtimeEnsure timely completion and documentation of work ordersPromote a culture of safety, emergency preparedness, and infection prevention within plant operationsSupport emergency preparedness planning, drills, and response activitiesProvide direction, coaching, and support to facility Maintenance Directors and plant operations staffAssist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance managementStandardize maintenance processes and best practices across the regionSupport capital improvement projects, renovations, and equipment replacementCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality, safety, and cost controlReview contracts, proposals, and service agreements related to plant operationsAssist with maintenance budgets, capital planning, and expense managementMonitor regional maintenance metrics and provide reports to regional and corporate leadershipIdentify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficienciesPartner with Administrators, Regional leadership, Infection Prevention, and Safety teamsServe as a regional resource for plant operations questions and problem resolutionCommunicate effectively with surveyors, inspectors, vendors, and internal stakeholdersRequired Skills and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or trade school preferred)Minimum 5-7 years of maintenance or plant operations experience in long-term care, healthcare, or regulated environmentsStrong knowledge of Life Safety Code, NFPA, OSHA, and CMS requirementsExperience overseeing building systems and preventive maintenance programsAbility to travel regularly within assigned regionPreferred QualificationsPrior regional or multi-facility maintenance leadership experienceCertification in healthcare facilities management (e.g., CHFM)Experience supporting regulatory surveys and emergency preparedness programsSkills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team-building skillsExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesAttention to detail and regulatory complianceEffective communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple facilities and prioritiesRequired EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or trade school preferred)Working Conditions / Physical RequirementsThe physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:Primarily involves sitting, standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately)Requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.Must continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.DisclaimerThe preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
