PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serve as the primary HR contact for Indiana locations
  • Partner with managers at Indiana locations to align HR practices with business objectives
  • Provide guidance on performance management and organizational effectiveness
  • Manage and resolve employee workplace issues, including performance concerns and policy violations
  • Conduct and oversee workplace investigations; ensure timely, fair, and well-documented outcomes
  • Lead and execute full-cycle recruiting efforts, partnering with hiring managers to identify, attract, and secure talent
  • Drive workforce planning initiatives, actively building and maintaining talent pipelines aligned to business needs
  • Own and deliver onboarding processes, ensuring effective integration and a positive new hire experience
  • Conduct and facilitate new hire orientations across Indiana locations, ensuring consistent onboarding experience and compliance with company standards
  • Design, coordinate, and execute the Indiana annual intern program from planning through completion
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies
  • Interpret policies and provide consistent guidance across the Indiana locations
  • Maintain accurate HR records and support audits or investigations as needed
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 5 or more years of HR experience preferred
  • Prior experience in workplace investigations required
  • Demonstrated ability to support or lead HR initiatives with increasing independence
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to evaluate and interpret data to identify trends, support decisions, and drive process improvements
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills

PHYSICAL EFFORT  

  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screens, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity so as to accomplish tasks in a safe and efficient manner. This includes regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Physical Location: This position operates between an office and manufacturing plant environment and is often assigned to a specific shift or hours. Employees must be able to perform job functions in environment with varying difficult work conditions such as extreme cold, heat, inclement weather, at heights, and/or while exposed to constant/intermittent loud noises.
  • Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
  • Listening Skills: This position will need to understand how to use machinery properly and safely to prevent accidents and ensure all tasks are completed accurately.
  • Ability to follow instructions: Managers assign tasks and responsibilities, which vary depending on the products being manufactured; this position should be able to follow instructions competently.
  • Methodical approach: Production lines follow a set process, so this position needs a methodical approach to ensure all tasks are completed in the correct order for a smooth-running production line.
  • Concentration: This position may perform the same or similar tasks repeatedly, so a strong level of concentration when carrying out these tasks is important for quality control purposes. This role is often fast paced, so being able to maintain focus at all times is important.
