The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park: Lake County IL or Willis Tower location. This position does not include relocation assistance.

What You’ll Work On

Mission

The Regional Investigations Manager conducts internal investigations relating to alleged violations of the Abbott Code of Business Conduct (and other policies and procedures), recommends and helps implement appropriate remediation, and reports conclusions to managers and business leaders. Identifies gaps in the company’s policies, procedures, and training that become apparent during investigations, and participates in corrective action. 

The US Regional Investigations Manager is also responsible for the intake and analysis of new reports, including identifying potential legal and policy issues.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Administers EthicsPoint including new user creation and existing user recertification, compliance with records retention schedules, etc.
  • Triages all intake and new reports and prepares weekly reports thereon for OEC Investigations management.
  • Responds to ad hoc report requests from OEC, ER/HR, Corporate Audit, Legal, etc.
  • Responsible for all aspects of US internal investigations assigned to them; works with employees at various levels of the organization to obtain relevant information; reviews and analyzes relevant documents and data; interviews witnesses; and formulates well-founded conclusions.
  • Participates in decision-making and recommendations regarding the remediation of internal investigations and follow-up actions, reports on investigations to compliance and business leaders.
  • Drafts reports of investigative findings.
  • Assists Directors and DVP Global Investigations with risk assessments, trend analysis, and compiling audit responses.
  • Supervisory/Management Responsibilities –  may supervise personnel responsible for intake and analysis of new reports, including identifying potential legal and policy issues and provides instruction and training to affiliate personnel responsible for local investigations that are less significant.

Position Accountability / Scope

  • Reports to Director, Global Investigations.
  • Operates independently with well-defined expectations, checking in with supervisors.
  • Interacts with employees and managers at all levels of the organization.
  • Builds up on relationship with businesses leaders to understand potential areas of opportunity and address important matters for each business and the company as a whole.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA required
  • Preference for CFE and/or CPA certification
  • Minimum eight years legal, investigations, auditing, financial or compliance experience, including experience conducting witness interviews.
  • High proficiency in English.
  • Strong preference for prior experience in audit at Big Four accounting firm.
  • Strong preference for experience in healthcare industry.

The base pay for this position is

$99,300.00 – $198,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
