What you'll be doing:

Travel between sites in Ohio and other operations to inspect, maintain, and repair locomotivesPerform routine inspections such as 92-day and 184-day checksTroubleshoot and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and air brake systemsComplete daily servicing and respond to breakdowns to keep operations runningPerform testing on brakes, batteries, and electrical systemsTrack oil samples to help find engine problems earlyRead and use schematics, manuals, and parts catalogs to diagnose issuesOrder parts and manage inventory needed for scheduled and unscheduled repairsWork with site teams to plan maintenance and reduce downtimeUse welding and cutting tools when needed for repairsRecord inspections, repairs, and work orders in company systemsSupport safe work practices and follow all railroad safety rules

Requirements to be successful in this position:

Miniumum 3-5 Years Experience maintaining and repairing locomotives (EMD experience preferred)Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsAbility to read technical manuals and electrical schematicsAble to work independently and make sound decisions in the fieldBasic computer skills and ability to use maintenance tracking systemsStrong focus on safety and following proceduresGood communication and teamwork skillsValid driver's license requiredWilling and able to travel regularly between job sitesAbility to meet various pre-employment requirements which may include but not limited to:
