Job Type: Full‑Time

Travel: Local travel between Lenoir City, TN and west Knoxville, TN

Reports To: Director of Clinical Services


Job Summary

The Regional Oncology and Hematology Clinic & Infusion Center Operations Manager provides operational and clinical leadership for multiple physician oncology clinics and hospital‑based infusion centers. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of oncology and hematology care while supporting advanced clinical practice, patient experience, staff development, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Patient Care

  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of physician oncology and hematology clinics and hospital‑based infusion centers
  • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, clinic flow, and workload distribution
  • Monitor patient experience metrics and develop improvement plans in collaboration with staff and physicians
  • Develop, monitor, and improve quality and performance indicators

Leadership & Staff Management

  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and retain administrative and clinical staff
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate staff competencies
  • Conduct staff rounding to support communication and alignment
  • Lead monthly staff meetings and annual performance evaluations
  • Recognize high‑performing staff and address performance concerns as needed
  • Evaluate nurse practitioners in collaboration with supervising physicians
  • Identify staff development needs and implement retention strategies

Financial & Business Operations

  • Develop and manage clinic and infusion center operating and capital budgets
  • Oversee payroll approval, time‑off tracking, and overtime monitoring
  • Collaborate with billing and business office teams to ensure accurate pre‑authorizations, collections, and claims processing
  • Monitor revenue cycle performance and resolve billing or documentation delays

Compliance, Quality & Regulatory

  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, accrediting, and governmental agencies, including patient privacy and safety requirements
  • Maintain and update clinic and infusion center policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient demographics, services rendered, and medical records
  • Maintain operational reports, records, and required statistical data

Technology, Materials & Vendor Management

  • Ensure effective use of EMR systems and administrative applications
  • Coordinate staff training on clinical and administrative systems
  • Oversee materials management and cost‑effective supply utilization
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and facilities/maintenance teams

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Partner with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, departments, and external partners to support coordinated patient care
  • Participate in interdisciplinary committees and leadership meetings as needed
  • Stay current on oncology, hematology, and patient care best practices
  • Exhibit strong customer service skills when responding to patient or public inquiries

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • RN, Pharmacist, or Medical Technologist strongly preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a healthcare setting, preferably oncology or hematology
  • Minimum of 2 years leadership or managerial experience in a multi‑physician practice
  • Working knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and healthcare information systems

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Certified Oncology Nurse (OCN) strongly preferred
  • Valid state Class D driver’s license with required insurance coverage
