Overview
This position provides forward-looking operational oversight of surgical scheduling across all campuses with a focus on maximizing operating room efficiency and resource utilization. The role reviews upcoming surgical schedules to identify opportunities to improve OR capacity utilization, align case volume with staffing availability, and resolve scheduling conflicts prior to the day of surgery.

Responsibilities
Working collaboratively with surgical schedulers, anesthesia scheduling, and perioperative leadership, this position helps ensure that operating room resources are used as effectively as possible. The position also supports efforts to improve operational flexibility by identifying opportunities for staff cross-training across specialties and campuses. By monitoring scheduling patterns and staffing utilization, the role helps highlight areas where expanded staff competencies could improve efficiency and support better use of available resources. The role also supports department readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys by assisting with internal audits, identifying compliance concerns, and helping ensure processes align with organizational and regulatory expectations. Review upcoming surgical schedules to identify opportunities to improve OR utilization and efficiency Monitor alignment between scheduled case volume and available staffing resources Identify unused OR capacity and communicate opportunities for additional cases Monitor block utilization and identify opportunities to release unused block time Support process improvements to maintain ongoing survey readiness Track recurring scheduling patterns that impact efficiency and provide feedback for process improvement Identify opportunities for cross-training staff across specialties or campuses to improve operational flexibility and OR efficiency Collaborate with perioperative leadership to support initiatives that expand staff competencies and improve resource utilization Assist with preparation for DNV and other regulatory surveys through internal audits and operational reviews Identify potential compliance or documentation concerns and communicate findings to leadership Participate in departmental projects, operational improvement initiatives, and special assignments as directed by perioperative leadership Performs other duties as assigned Assist in optimizing case placement across campuses to balance workload and staffing Audit schedules for potential equipment conflicts, privilege issues, or documentation concerns that could impact efficiency Communicate scheduling concerns and opportunities for improvement to perioperative leadership

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $21.25per hour - $35.49per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
