SRM Concrete, a national leader in the ready-mix concrete industry, is seeking an experienced Regional Safety Manager to lead and strengthen our safety culture across multiple locations. In this leadership role, you will partner with operations management to develop proactive safety strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor local leaders, and drive continuous improvement throughout your assigned region.

As a key member of SRM Concrete's safety leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to influence company-wide initiatives while supporting regional operations and helping protect our most valuable asset—our people.

Your Mission & Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic safety leadership and oversight for multiple ready-mix plants, mines, and construction operations throughout the assigned region.
  • Partner with Regional Vice Presidents, Area Managers, Plant Managers, and Operations leaders to develop and implement safety initiatives that align with company goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and comprehensive safety audits to identify hazards, evaluate risk, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and MSHA where applicable.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain regional safety programs, policies, procedures, and inspection schedules that promote consistency and operational excellence.
  • Lead investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, property damage, and motor vehicle accidents, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Oversee and manage workers' compensation claims within the assigned region, partnering with operations, Human Resources, and insurance providers to support employees and facilitate return-to-work programs.
  • Analyze regional safety performance metrics, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Deliver engaging safety training and leadership development programs focused on regulatory compliance, hazard recognition, defensive driving, emergency response, and best safety practices.
  • Coach and mentor managers and supervisors to strengthen accountability and ownership of safety throughout the organization.
  • Monitor compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements, ensuring corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives and assist with regulatory inspections and agency interactions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the corporate safety team and fellow Regional Safety Managers to share best practices, standardize processes, and implement company-wide initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts that enhance safety performance across the organization.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region to provide on-site leadership and support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of SRM Concrete's commitment to safety excellence.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressive safety leadership experience, preferably in construction, aggregates, mining, transportation, manufacturing, or the ready-mix concrete industry.
  • Multi-site or regional safety management experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and applicable state and federal safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence leaders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively train and engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Ability to interpret safety data and develop action plans that improve performance.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or SMS are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to conduct routine inspections at concrete plants, mines, construction sites, and other operational facilities.
  • Ability to travel throughout the assigned region.
