    Project Manager at Thomas Brooke InternationalThe OpportunityJoin an entrepreneurial team at a small, high-growth industrial coatings manufacturer backed by private equity, where you'll have immediate impact shaping sales strategy without layers of corporate bureaucracy.Reporting directly to the CEO, step into a newly created role with uncapped earning potential through a generous 4% commission on new sales, plus flexible structures to reward your contributions from day one.Focus primarily on direct business development and mentor the small existing sales team, driving branded product expansion while leveraging tolling for stable volume—perfect for someone energized by building something meaningful.Thrive in a collaborative culture focused on customization and customer value, with a strong reputation for delivering high quality products.What You'll DoFirst priority: hunt and close new business opportunities by prospecting, building pipelines, and leveraging your established relationships to identify customer pain points and deliver tailored value propositions in multiple end‑use market segments.Once onboarded/established, manage and mentor 2 technical sales reps, guiding them from account farming to proactive hunting, optimizing time allocation, and fostering a growth mindset to boost overall productivity.Develop and execute sales strategies, including long‑term relationship nurturing (months to years) and rapid‑response pursuits for active buyers (90 days to 6 months), focusing on branded, higher‑margin products.Oversee existing customer relationships to ensure retention and expansion, while collaborating cross‑functionally on custom formulations, trials, and competitive positioning against major players.Participate in implementation of new CRM; use CRM tools strategically to track prospects, analyze pipelines, and drive data‑informed decisions.Candidate ProfileBachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry, Polymer Science or other relevant field strongly preferred; but proven results in industrial coatings sales are most important.Proven track record in direct industrial coatings sales, with established networks and relationships.Deep domain knowledge of custom coatings applications (including 2K epoxies, urethanes, low‑VOC etc); understanding of customer sales cycles, and key competitors.Skills in strategy development, pipeline building, prospecting, and balancing direct selling with leadership – experience handling $3M+ territories.Player‑coach experience managing a small team is very helpful, but not essential.CRM advocate for strategic insights. Implementation experience helpful.Entrepreneurial spirit with high energy, resourcefulness and resilience for small‑company ambiguity, challenges, and growth opportunity – excited by mentoring, impact, and what's possible.
