Regional Sales Manager
A leading manufacturer of advanced measurement technology for the water utility industry is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager.
Territory: Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan
Location: Remote within the territory
Travel: Significant regional travel required
Position Overview
The Regional Sales Manager will develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and drive profitable growth across the municipal market. This individual will lead sales and business development efforts, build trusted relationships with customers and distribution partners, and expand an established territory with strong growth potential.
The ideal candidate is an energetic and proven sales professional with experience selling technology or infrastructure solutions to municipalities or other government organizations. This person should bring an entrepreneurial mindset, strong business acumen, and the ability to collaborate across all levels of an organization.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement territory sales strategies that support company growth objectives
Drive market share, revenue growth, and profitability throughout the assigned region
Manage the sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts, activity reporting, and performance metrics
Build trusted relationships with municipal customers, business partners, distributors, and other key stakeholders
Help manage a strategic distribution partner by developing joint business plans and establishing realistic sales goals
Support distributor sales teams through product training, technical guidance, joint sales calls, business planning, and warranty support
Conduct market research and competitive analysis
Represent the company at local and regional trade shows
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
At least eight years of successful territory sales experience
Experience selling innovative technology or infrastructure solutions to municipalities or other government organizations
Proven record of growing revenue and market share within an assigned territory
Experience managing a sales pipeline and accurately forecasting growth
Strong understanding of the complete sales process
Experience selling through and supporting distribution partners
Understanding of the market factors that influence municipal purchasing decisions
Ability to act as a strong brand ambassador
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen
Proven ability to build trusted relationships and follow through on commitments
Strategic thinker who can work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated, flexible, and willing to support responsibilities outside the primary scope of the role
Ability to travel throughout Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with water meters, metering technology, AMI, or AMR systems
Experience using Salesforce
