Location: Baltimore, MD
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support field and project operations for heavy civil and infrastructure construction projects. This role is primarily field-based and ideal for early- to mid-career engineers ready to gain hands-on construction experience and contribute to project delivery. Travel throughout the Hampton Roads area may be required depending on project locations.
Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in managing all aspects of project field operations and administration.
Participate in pre-construction activities including construction planning, design interpretation, and quantity take-offs.
Understand specifications, drawings, standards, and subcontractor/supplier scopes of work.
Maintain safety compliance and reinforce company safety policies.
Prepare drawings, sketches, and as-built documentation to support construction work, change orders, and estimates.
Verify work-in-place quantities for invoicing and maintain RFI and submittal logs.
Ensure accurate craft timecards, cost codes, and project documentation.
Support constructability reviews, value engineering, quality control, and project status reporting.
Assist in project close-out activities and provide estimating support as needed.
Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.
4-year civil engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
2–4 years of field construction experience.
E.I.T. preferred but not required.
Ability to read and interpret plans and construction documents.
Basic understanding of cost analysis.
Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to travel as required.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and work on uneven ground.
Perform tasks in outdoor environments, wearing required PPE and steel-toed boots.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
