    ROVEMA North America, headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, is the wholly-owned North American subsidiary of ROVEMA GmbH - a global leader in packaging machinery engineering founded in 1957. We design, sell, and support industry-leading vertical form/fill/seal (VFFS) baggers, cartoning systems, and end-of-line packaging solutions for consumer packaged goods producers across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial markets. With over 2,000 machines installed across North America and a reputation built on German-engineered precision, ROVEMA is a trusted partner to many of the world's top CPG brands.

    We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to serve as the primary commercial partner for customers across the western United States, driving the complete sales process while collaborating with internal teams to deliver technically optimized packaging solutions.

    • Orange County
    • San Diego
    • Sacramento

    Other Western U.S. locations may be considered.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for managing the complete sales process for capital packaging equipment and integrated packaging systems throughout an assigned North American territory.

    From lead generation and prospect development through quotation, negotiation, and order intake, this position serves as the primary customer relationship manager.

    The ideal candidate combines strong consultative selling skills with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, automation, and packaging applications within the food industry.

    Sales & Business Development

    • Generate and qualify sales opportunities for packaging machinery, integrated systems, and turnkey packaging solutions.
    • Develop and execute a territory growth strategy aligned with ROVEMA North America's business objectives.
    • Drive the complete capital equipment sales cycle, from initial customer engagement through contract award and project handoff.
    • Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities.
    • Build relationships across customer organizations including:
    • Plant Management
    • Operations Leadership
    • Engineering Teams
    • Corporate Engineering
    • Procurement
    • Executive Management

    Customer Solution Development

    • Work closely with customers to understand manufacturing processes, packaging requirements, production goals, and operational challenges.
    • Collaborate with Technical Sales Engineers and application specialists to develop customized packaging solutions.
    • Recommend equipment configurations, line concepts, automation solutions, and system enhancements that deliver measurable customer value.
    • Present technical proposals, investment justifications, and Return on Investment (ROI) analyses.
    • Participate in customer trials, factory acceptance testing, and solution reviews when appropriate.

    Strategic Relationship Management

    • Position ROVEMA as a trusted long-term packaging partner rather than solely an equipment supplier.
    • Collaborate closely with Service, Aftermarket Sales, Project Management and Technical Support teams to drive repeat business and customer retention.
    • Support customers throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring effective communication and customer satisfaction.

    Pipeline & CRM Management

    • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline using Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
    • Document customer interactions, project developments, forecasting data and opportunity milestones.
    • Provide regular sales forecasts and territory updates to management.

    Market Intelligence

    • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, customer investment patterns, and emerging technologies.

    • Provide actionable feedback regarding:

    • Competitive positioning

    • Pricing trends

    • Sustainability initiatives

    • Automation developments

    • Customer requirements

    • Support marketing and product management efforts through field intelligence and customer feedback.

    Key Requirements

    Education & Experience

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Packaging, Industrial Technology or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
    • Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience within capital equipment, industrial automation, packaging machinery, or manufacturing technology.
    • Demonstrated experience managing complex territory sales activities and customer relationships.
    • Ability to travel throughout North America approximately 50-60%.

    Preferred

    • Experience within the food, pet food, snack food, frozen food, confectionery, bakery, coffee, or consumer packaged goods industries.

    • Knowledge of packaging systems such as:

    • Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS)

    • Cartoning

    • Case Packing

    • Palletizing

    • End-of-Line Automation

    • Integrated Packaging Lines

    • Proven success selling medium- to large-scale capital equipment projects with extended sales cycles.

    • Experience working with multinational organizations and cross-functional project teams.

    Skills & Competencies

    • Strong consultative sales approach.
    • Ability to identify customer needs and develop value-based solutions.
    • Technical aptitude and understanding of automated manufacturing systems.
    • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Strong business acumen and financial understanding.
    • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a large geographic territory.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
