Salary Range: Pay: $85,000 - $105,000/Year + bonus

These positions are based in Hendersonville, NC, Fort Myers, FL (Immokalee), Dallas, TX, or Knoxville, TN

Manager Notes:

  • Exactly what are the territories in terms of distance away from these base locations? 50 miles, 100 miles, 200 miles, etc.- delivery lanes - 350-400 miles radius - wants someone who is comfortable to take over the entire SE - they want someone not afraid to branch out 
  • How often will they need to travel overnight? travel up too 30% of the time - 6-7 days a month - kick down doors 
  • How does expense reimbursement work? car allowance, gas card, etc. they will cover everything
  • How many days/week will they be required to work in the office? local office every day not traveling


About the Role
The Regional Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable sales growth within an assigned region through the development of new business opportunities, expansion of existing customer relationships, and execution of regional sales strategies. This role serves as a key representative in the marketplace and partners closely with customers, operations, supply chain, and other internal teams to deliver exceptional service and long-term value. The position requires regular travel throughout the assigned region and a high degree of independence, initiative, and accountability.
 
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy Execution

  • Develop and execute regional sales plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Identify high-value prospects, understand the competitive landscape across an assigned region and adjacent markets, and effectively position company products to drive volume growth.
Account Management
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers including retailers, distributors, foodservice operators, and other trade partners.
  • Build strong customer relationships through regular communication, on-site visits, and proactive account management.
Prospecting and Pipeline Development
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and pursue opportunities for expanded product placements and market penetration through:
    • New accounts within the regional territory
    • Expanded product placements with existing customers
    • Conversion opportunities from competitive suppliers
Sales Reporting and Forecasting
  • Track performance against case, revenue and margin targets.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts and activity reports for management as well as maintaining up-to-date customer records.
Product Knowledge
  • Develop a strong understanding of  product portfolio, supply capabilities, seasonal availability, and value proposition.
  • Clearly articulate product value and tailor solutions to customer needs and purchasing cycles.
Trade Shows and Industry Events
  • Represent company at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  • Generate qualified leads and strengthen market presence through professional representation.
Market and Competitive Intelligence
  • Monitor regional market conditions, customer trends, competitive activity, and pricing dynamics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide timely information to Regional Sales Manager to inform strategy and pricing decisions.
Budget Management
  • Manage travel and business expenses responsibly and within approved guidelines.
  • Exercise sound judgement in the use of company resources to achieve business objectives.
Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with operations, logistics, supply chain, food safety, and other internal teams to support customer success.
  • Proactively communicate customer needs and market feedback to relevant departments.
Issue Resolution
  • Assist in resolving customer concerns and service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Serve as a dependable point of contact for customers when issues arise.
Regional Travel
  • Travel up to 50% of the time within the assigned region to conduct customer meetings, site visits, and prospecting calls.
  • Plan and execute travel efficiently to maximize time in front of customers while meeting internal reporting requirements.
 
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales, account management, business development, or related experience.
  • Experience within fresh produce, agriculture, foodservice, grocery retail, or a related industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving or exceeding sales goals and growing customer relationships.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record required.
 
Travel Requirements
  • Travel up to 50% within the assigned territory.
  • Overnight travel may be required for customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and commercial airline as business needs require.

  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present effectively to customers and business partners.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze sales performance, pricing, margins, forecasts, and market trends.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and accounts simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, and sales reporting tools.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism in all customer interactions.
