POSITION AVAILABLE: Full-time Regional Substitute Teacher
POSITION LOCATION: Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC), with placement in our Educational Learning Centers in the Southwest Minnesota region.
POSITION SUMMARY: The substitute teacher plays a crucial role in maintaining the educational environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher and ensures that students' learning experiences are as uninterrupted as possible.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Implements appropriate educational and/or behavioral programs for students to meet specific needs and goals of the students; participates and conducts portions of the evaluations and observations to determine special education eligibility of students placed in the program and conducts periodic assessments to determine educational progress of the students; conducts and/or participates in IEP Meetings for students in the program; performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree required. Emotional/Behavior Disorder (E/BD) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) licensure from MDE is preferred, but not necessary if willing or in the process of getting licensure. Teacher will provide services to students in a self-contained, all-day setting, collaborating with paraprofessionals and other member school district staff. Must have good organizational and communication skills.
CONTRACT/SALARY: This could be up to a 185-day full-time contract for 2026-2027 school year. Beginning salary dependent upon education, qualifications and experience. Excellent fringe benefits. Position to begin in September of 2026.
