Job Description

Regional Vice President AEC and Infrastructure

Seattle, WA

Our client is an established multidisciplinary engineering, architecture, and planning firm serving public agencies and infrastructure clients.

The firm is seeking a business-minded Regional Vice President to expand its presence throughout the Pacific Northwest. This person will build on an established Seattle-area team and help develop the operation into a broader, fully capable regional office.

This is not a traditional operations or people-management role. The Regional Vice President will be the firm’s most senior local market leader, focused primarily on business development, client relationships, market strategy, and regional growth. The position currently has no direct reports, allowing this person to concentrate on identifying opportunities, connecting clients with the firm’s technical capabilities, and helping determine which markets and services the organization should develop next.

The ideal candidate is a licensed engineer, structural engineer, or architect who understands the Pacific Northwest AEC market and has established relationships with public agencies, infrastructure owners, industry partners, or other key clients. This person does not need to be an expert in every technical discipline. They do need the business judgment and relationships to recognize opportunities beyond their own specialty and bring the appropriate people and resources together.

Regional Vice President Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for the firm’s Pacific Northwest operations.
  • Expand relationships with public agencies, infrastructure owners, industry partners, and other strategic clients.
  • Identify opportunities across transportation, aviation, facilities, civil infrastructure, and related markets.
  • Help determine which services, capabilities, and technical teams the firm should build or expand regionally.
  • Lead business-development efforts, including client outreach, strategic pursuits, teaming relationships, presentations, interviews, and negotiations.
  • Connect regional clients and opportunities with technical professionals and resources located throughout the organization.
  • Monitor infrastructure investment, market conditions, client priorities, and competitive activity throughout the Pacific Northwest.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, professional associations, conferences, and industry events.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on significant client, project, and regional business matters.
  • Manage or co-manage select strategic projects to remain connected to clients and project delivery.
  • Work across offices and technical disciplines to align resources with regional opportunities.
  • Support and mentor local managers and emerging leaders through collaboration and influence.
  • Report regional pipeline activity, market opportunities, challenges, and growth priorities to executive leadership.

Regional Vice President Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, planning, construction management, or a related field.
  • Active professional registration as a Professional Engineer, Structural Engineer, or licensed architect.
  • Active Washington registration is required; California or another Western-state registration is a plus.
  • Approximately 10 or more years of experience in engineering, architecture, construction, environmental consulting, or another AEC-related professional-services environment.
  • Demonstrated success developing business, expanding client relationships, and generating new opportunities.
  • Established relationships within the Pacific Northwest infrastructure, transportation, public-agency, or broader AEC community.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary technical teams and senior organizational leaders.
  • Ability to identify opportunities beyond one technical discipline or market sector.
  • Strong understanding of consulting-firm business development, project delivery, and client relationship management.
  • Experience contributing to market strategy, revenue growth, business planning, or regional expansion.
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to build credibility with clients, technical professionals, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically for client meetings, strategic pursuits, industry events, and internal collaboration.

Why Consider This Opportunity

  • Serve as the firm’s most senior market leader in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Help shape the future of an established Seattle-area engineering operation.
  • Build new markets and capabilities instead of inheriting a narrowly defined technical practice.
  • Focus on business development and strategy without daily direct-report responsibilities.
  • Remain involved with select strategic projects and important client relationships.
  • Access the technical resources and capabilities of a larger multidisciplinary organization.
  • Join a firm that is actively investing in geographic and service-line expansion.

Company Benefits

  • Lucrative annual incentive bonus based on company, division, and individual/team performance.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage available on the first day of employment.
  • Employer contributions to a Health Savings Account when enrolled in the qualifying medical plan.
  • Generous paid time off
  • Additional paid leave for extended medical needs, family care, and parental bonding.
  • Tuition reimbursement and company-paid professional development.
  • Reimbursement for professional license renewals and approved industry memberships.

Compensation: $175,000 - $250,000 + 15% bonus
