    Description

    Job Title: Register Nurse
    Specialty: Occupational Health / Fitness for Duty (FFD) & Medical Case Review
    Place of Work (City/State): Springfield, VA
    Site: TSA Headquarters Workforce & Enterprise Operations, Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO)
    location: 6595 Springfield Center Drive, Springfield, VA 20598 (remote work permitted, but must be available onsite for initial training and as needed by OCMO)
    Duration: 1 year contract with the possible of 4 option years
    Shift Schedule: Standard business hours; core hours of operation 9:00 AM 3:00 PM.
    How many shifts needed per month: Full-time, standard weekday schedule
    Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 8 weeks
    License: Active RN license in the state of Virginia
    Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
    Experience needed: Minimum 2 years of direct, relevant experience in occupational health, employee case management, and medical review processes, including FFD evaluations and medical exam record review
    Special Skills needed:
    • Review of electronic AMC (Annual Medical Certification) questionnaires against medical guidelines
    • FFD case review, documentation, and letter preparation for physician sign-off
    • Strong documentation skills for federal medical records systems
    • Customer service - responding to inquiries within 24 hours
    Responsibilities:
    • Review AMC medical questionnaires and determine clearance vs. need for additional information
    • Contact employees within 24 hours to discuss medical concerns
    • Conduct records-based FFD reviews (~6 reviews/day historically) and prepare determination letters for physician review
    • Review TSO applicant/reinstatement medical exam records and recommend pass/fail medical qualification
    • Document all actions in OCMO's medical records system
    • Support EEO case reviews/litigation as needed (records, summaries, affidavit support)
    • Recommend process improvements; contribute to quarterly reports
