Description

Job Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Autism Program Manager, the Registered Behavior Analyst Interventionist (RBAI), functions in a team and mission-based setting to provide therapeutic services for children, aged 2-21. with autism to provide behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. The RBAI works with children as well as close family members to implement structured and play-based activities in a clinic setting to increase and/or decrease behavior. This position will support mission and goal achievement, organizational quality, and patient-centered medical home philosophy.

Paid fieldwork supervision is provided for individuals pursuing BCBA certification.

Duties:

  • Adhere to the spirit of Waterfall Community Health Center to remove barriers to care and our mission statement while performing assigned duties.
  • Demonstrate the core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Compassion, Partnership, and Collaborative Communication.
  • Work one-on-one with children with autism, aged 2-21, to provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy.
  • Implement structured and play-based activities in a clinic setting to increase and/or decrease behavior.
  • Implement ABA interventions with the supervision and support of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Assist in behavioral data collection to monitor and report on client progress.
  • Regularly collaborate with a treatment team that includes BCBAs, other behavior technicians, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.
  • Participate in ongoing, paid training for professional development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation associated with comprehensive electronic client files.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, deal tactfully and patiently with clients, establish, and maintain reports and statistical data, and maintain effective working relationships with peers and other professionals.
  • Promote individual and organizational integrity by exhibiting ethical behavior to maintain high standards.
  • Support program goals to reduce cultural and socio-economic barriers between clients and institutions committed to working with marginalized and diverse community populations.
  • Complete other assignments as directed.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree, Associates degree, or some college coursework in psychology, child development, early childhood education, or similar field of study preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working in ABA, education, childcare, behavioral health, and mental health with children and/or individuals with developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate professionally with colleagues and client families.
  • Able to interpret and apply detailed intervention protocols as written.
  • Able to stay calm and objective during fast-paced and unpredictable situations.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule when circumstances are necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality - in accordance with WCHC policies and HIPAA regulations.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • RBAI certified within the first 90 days of employment. Paid training will be provided.
  • Have a current CPR/AED certification or be willing to obtain certification within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Comprehensive training class completed within 6 months of hire and recertify prior to the expiration date.

Immunizations Required:

  • TB (test upon hire)

Physical Requirements:

  • Short periods sitting at a desk working at a computer.
  • Able to run, bend, kneel, jump, squat, walk, sit, stand, and otherwise function in an active work environment for 2-3 hours sessions.
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds rarely.
  • Able to travel as needed.
