About the Role: Alabama Autism Assistance Program (HANDS) is looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our growing team in Birmingham, AL. In this rewarding role, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with autism by delivering evidence-based behavioral interventions in a supportive, compassionate environment.
Responsibilities:
Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Collect and record accurate behavioral data during each therapy session
Support clients in developing communication, social, and daily living skills
Use positive reinforcement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and increase adaptive behaviors
Maintain detailed session notes and progress documentation in compliance with program standards
Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and caregivers to ensure consistency across environments
Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
Requirements:
Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred
Prior experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or developmental disabilities
Strong understanding of ABA principles and behavior intervention techniques
Excellent communication, patience, and relationship-building skills
Ability to pass a background check and meet all state and program compliance requirements
Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and weekends
