As a Registered Behavior Technician, you ll play a vital role in implementing individualized behavioral supports within a therapeutic, trauma-responsive educational environment where relationships come first. Working alongside educators, mental health professionals, and families, you ll help students build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed academically, socially, and beyond the classroom. Requirements / Qualifications

PLEASE NOTE: This is an 11 month, 195 day position. Calendar will be provided upon hiring. THE POSITION: Working under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and an administrator, the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides individualized behavioral intervention and instructional support to students in ACOE's community school programs. The RBT supports the implementation of behavior intervention plans, assists with skill acquisition, collects and summarizes data, and models best practices for classroom/school staff. LOCATION: The new GRACE School will be located in Oakland, CA. TYPICAL DUTIES: Implement behavior intervention plans, and skill acquisition programs developed by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team and/or classroom/school staff under close, ongoing supervision of the BCBA. Model use of behavioral strategies and evidence-based practices, and support coaching of classroom/school staff with clinical supervision from BCBA. Collect and maintain objective, accurate data on behavioral, social-emotional, academic, and other goals as specified. Assist BCBA in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), criterion-referenced assessments, and other assessments as required.Respond to crisis events using pre-specified and approved de-escalation strategies. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor's degree in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or related field preferred. Experience: Two years of experience working with adolescents or children in academic or clinical settings. Experience implementing behavioral interventions, collecting data, and supporting BCBAs in various settings with diverse populations preferred. Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience.
