Job Description Position Title: Registered Behavior TechnicianDepartment: Teaching & LearningReports To: Director of Special EducationCompensation: Pay Grade 2FCalendar: 187 DaysCategory: Classied Hourly SUMMARY:Assists and supports teachers and Board Certied Behavior Analyst through the implementation ofIEP supports, services and treatment plans for students with signicant disabilities and challengingbehaviors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential duties must be performed on site. Other duties may be assigned Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Carries out treatment plans designed by a Board Certied Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or similarpractitioner. Assists with communication, social and daily living skills at the direction of BCBA and/orteachers. Assists with individual and group instructional reinforcement, supporting students at BCBA andteachers' direction, as needed. Provides direct intervention services to students in cooperation with teachers, physicians, andparents. Participates in and provides input to the individual education team for the students. Keeps records of student behavior progress and programs implemented to achieve desiredbehaviors. Assists in data collection and progress monitoring. Assists in providing feedback on student work. Assists teachers in promoting a positive learning environment. Supports and maintainsindividualized behavior management plans. Assists teachers with implementation of specic instructional requirements as indicated in theindividual education plans for each student. Assists teachers in supervision of students including, but not limited to: loading/unloadingbuses, lunchroom, playground, individualized settings. Assists with preparation of instructional materials as needed. Assists teachers with gathering data for reports and paperwork related functions as needed. Assists willingly in potential Non-Violent Crisis Interventions utilizing the skills learned throughCPI training in accordance within Iowa Department of Education Regulations: Chapter 103. Assists willingly in the maintenance of student safety if student attempts elopement throughskills learned through CPI training in accordance within Iowa Department of EducationRegulations: Chapter 103. Staff must be able to run short distances toensure student safety. WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employeeencounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
