Summary of Position
Works under general supervision to provide 1:1 behavior therapy to students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, ages 3 - 22 years old, who attend YSU Rich Center for Autism. Provides instructions and implementing the interventions developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Uses Applied Behavior Analysis interventions to teach communication, functional living skills, social skills, and assist in reducing problematic behaviors.
Position Information
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 70% - Provides direct care with students in one-on-one or small group setting.
Follows behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans based on individual assessments.
15% - Collects and report data on all programming and completes progress notes for every session.
Communicates with students, parents, and/or guardians on client progress.
10% - Collaborates with the behavior department regarding all aspects of behavior therapy sessions.
Assists staff with initial assessment for students.
Assists staff in the preparation of student materials.
5% - Participates in mandatory trainings or in-services to stay current in the field, as needed.
Maintains Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Maintains confidentiality for all individuals and safeguard all student related information.
Follows the attendance policy per Youngstown State University policy.
Demonstrates effective time management skills and an ability to multi-task.
Demonstrates the ability to make sound judgment through problem solving and consulting with your supervisor to ensure effective treatment is being provided.
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires.
Performs other duties as assigned and/or required that are within the level of responsibility for this classification at the discretion of the supervisor.
Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment.
Work Schedule: The Rich Center Academic Calendar recognizes 209 working days, inclusive of academic program days, in-service/professional development days, and parent-teacher conference days. The Rich Center Academic Calendar recognizes there is no academic programming and that the Center is closed on university designated legal holidays. Hours may be scheduled outside of The Rich Center Academic Calendar at the discretion of the supervisor.

Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Registered Behavior Technician Certification (RBT)*
Sponsorship and/or Work Authorization Status: This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications: At least a high school diploma or GED; at least six months of experience in a related field; and the ability to achieve Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) certification within 90 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications: An associate and/or bachelor's degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education, special education, autism spectrum disorder, applied behavior analysis or related field. RBT certified or working towards RBT certification through BACB. Two or more years of experience working as an RBT.
Physical Requirements: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform medium work.
Medium: work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
