Registered Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technician
Location:Brooklyn, New York
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Shift: Day Shift
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Extension Possible)
Compensation: $2,100 – $2,780/week (based on experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technician for a 13-week assignment in Brooklyn, New York. This opportunity is ideal for a highly skilled echocardiography professional with strong adult and geriatric patient care experience and the ability to perform a wide range of cardiac ultrasound procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical echocardiography skills, strong clinical judgment, and excellent patient communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret:
- M-mode echocardiograms
- 2-D echocardiograms
- Pulse and continuous Doppler studies
- Color Doppler studies
- Contrast echocardiograms
- Stress echocardiograms
- Complete echo worksheets and required calculations accurately and efficiently
- Prepare patients and explain procedures clearly
- Monitor and support adult and geriatric patient care needs
- Assist cardiologists during procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment
- Ensure exam rooms remain stocked and organized
- Support training and mentorship of students and fellows when applicable
- Participate in ongoing continuing education and professional development
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Echo Tech experience required
- Current Echocardiography Registry/Certification required
- Current AHA BLS Certification required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred
- Strong understanding of echocardiography procedures and cardiac anatomy
Required Skills
- Adult and geriatric patient care experience
- Stress echo and contrast echo experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technical ultrasound equipment knowledge
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be able to:
- Lift up to 20 pounds routinely
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach throughout the shift
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation
- Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively
