Summary:

ValidaTek is searching for a Registered Communications Distribution Designer to lead the planning and development of an advanced cable infrastructure supporting a large DoD IT infrastructure program providing a common view for all enterprise-wide users.

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead the planning and design of structured cabling infrastructure within classified DoD environments.
 
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate telecommunications and building technology systems.
 
  • Design, maintain, and optimize Inside Plant (ISP) infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coaxial, and fiber optic systems.
 
  • Develop Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) for cable rack installations, rack wiring, and infrastructure testing.
 
  • Ensure telecommunications designs and installations comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
 
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations on telecommunications and building technology solutions.
 
  • Perform technical analysis and calculations to support infrastructure planning, design, and implementation.
 
  • Review infrastructure requirements and develop cost-effective, scalable cabling solutions.
 
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
 
  • Support installation oversight, testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of telecommunications infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience as an RCDD.
  • 3+ years of experience as a senior or lead RCDD in planning and designing cable infrastructure in a cleared DoD environment.
  • Performed site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes.
  • Maintained Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated
  • Developed EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of racks, and testing required during installation.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge on codes and technologies appropriate to telecommunications and building technologies and the design/construction industry.
  • Demonstrated outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
  • All candidates must have a BISCI RCDD certification.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance.

 

Salary Disclosure

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
