The Registered Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant plays a key role in providing excellent clinical support and ensuring each patient receives exceptional orthodontic care and a positive experience during every visit. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with patients of all ages, and values teamwork and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the orthodontist during patient procedures and adjustments
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards
- Take digital X-rays, photographs, and impressions/scans as needed
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances under doctor supervision
- Provide patient education regarding oral hygiene and appliance care
- Maintain accurate patient records and charting
- Ensure patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for throughout their visit
- Support front and back office teamwork as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license required
- Orthodontic experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
- CPR certification required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude with strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
