About you:
You are a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant seeking to enhance your expertise while providing top-notch care to the elderly population! You love to be the soothing voice and touch in what can otherwise, be an uncomfotable moment for patients. The ideal candidate is open to working with one or more dentists and traveling to assigned nursing homes to provide dental services with a current Radiology Certificate (or equivalent credential).
About the Role:
As a Dental Assistant with HealthDrive, you will assist Dentists in performing assigned clinical and non-clinical duties for the residents of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and long term care facilities. This role requires driving, potentially to more than 1 location per day. You too, will be supported by our dedicated team! Monday through Thursday with potential for Fridays in the future.

Compensation:
$25 - $27 per hour
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for dental procedures.
- Assists Dentist during dental procedures.
- Sterilizes or disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays and prepares materials.
- Records treatment information in patient records.
- Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist.
- Assists dentist in the management of medical or dental emergencies.
- Instruct patients in oral hygiene and plaque control programs.
- Clean and polish removable appliances.
- Make preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
- Adheres to OSHA guidelines regarding patient care, disposal of materials, and sterilization of equipment on a daily basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year Dental Assistant experience
- Valid Driver's Licence and clean driving record
- Registered Dental Assistant
- Xray Certification

- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently under direct supervision on a daily basis.
- Ability to use email, the internet and to learn other healthcare related software.
- Self starter attitude with the desire to deliver quality, thoughtful and attentive care.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, to bend, and to lift.
- Ability to transport patients in wheelchairs.
Work Environment:
- Facility: Nursing Home or Assisted Living Centers, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted and Independent Care Facilities, and Continuing Care Retirement Centers.
- Facility Layout: Hallways, ramps, elevators, swinging doors, stairs.
- Equipment: Mobile chairs and mobile beds at the facilities.
Travel:
- This is a daily travel position based on patient care requirements for the specified service area.
