Reports to: Practice Dentist/Oral Surgeon

Position Type: Part-time

We are seeking a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to join our surgical team in a modern, state-of-the-art, well-established dental practice located in downtown Petaluma. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values collaboration, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellent patient care. Experience is a plus but not required; training is provided.

Key responsibilities and scope:

  • Assist the dental surgeon during surgical procedures and chairside duties.
  • Prepare and maintain operatory rooms and instruments to meet infection-control and safety standards.
  • Obtain and document patient histories, take high-quality intra-oral photographs, and assist with patient education.
  • Utilize practice computer systems for documentation, charting, and scheduling.
  • Participate in virtual surgical treatment planning, including use of 3D planning software (training provided).
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and follow office protocols.

Training and technical requirements:

  • Computer literacy required; ability to navigate electronic health records, scheduling systems, and standard office software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Google Suite preferred; full training provided on practice-specific systems and 3D virtual surgery software.
