First Care Clinic is looking for a Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our excellent team.
The Dental Hygienist is responsible for providing dental services to patients within the scope of this her practice in the clinic & to students in dental outreach.
Our 8-chair dental clinic provides general family dentistry and hygiene including preventative comprehensive and restorative dental services. We also provide a Dental Outreach Program to bring dental screenings and cleanings to local students. Our team currently travels to 66 schools allowing our hygienists to experience more than just our clinical setting.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Perform dental prophylaxis scaling root planning fluoride and sealants as prescribed by the dentist.
Perform periodontal charting as needed.
Demonstrate and/or provide oral hygiene instructions to patients.
Ensure the attending dentist performs exams on all patients.
Perform digital radiographs as prescribed by the dentist.
Accurately document treatment performed and conditions noted for each patient.
Maintain dental instruments for peak performance and in compliance with standards.
Organize fill and maintain appointment schedule.
Perform screenings fluoride sealants and prophylaxis in accordance with the Dental Outreach Program.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations.
- Must be able to document in a neat legible manner and be able to spell medical terminology correctly.
- Must exhibit initiative and sound judgment in the absence of specific orders.
- Must exhibit professional demeanor by being helpful courteous and efficient when dealing with other employees or outside agencies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to provide appropriate efficient and quality patient care.
- Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with unsatisfied patients and coworkers effectively and respectfully.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
- Strong time management priority setting work delegation and work organization skills.
- Ability to follow written policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment.
- Knowledge of standard office machines including copier fax multi-line phones printers scanners etc.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft and Office 365 programs.
- Ability to work as a productive and effective team member be flexible and adapt to needs/priorities.

Salary and Application Information
Salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000 annually depending on experience.
