    Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital represents Orlando Health’s continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we have proudly served for 40 years. As a comprehensive acute care facility, the hospital offers a full scope of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and women’s services with labor and delivery, alongside a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds, the 455,000 square foot hospital will be able to expand to up to 240 beds. State-of-the-art facilities include operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, a vascular lab, an ICU and a full-service emergency department.

     

    For labor and delivery, the hospital features six private suites thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home while providing exceptional medical care. Each suite includes a hydrotherapy tub for laboring, shower, recliner, adjustable bed with a squat bar, wireless and waterproof heart rate monitors for mom and baby, a smart board that integrates patient and nurse information from Epic, WiFi, and televisions. These modern amenities ensure a comfortable and supportive environment for every patient.

    Position Summary:

    Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on assessment of patient nutritional needs taking into account both growth and disease state requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    What you will do

    • Writes orders per policy.
    • Counsels patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections taking into account cultural and ethnic requests.
    • Communicates appropriate dietary history and nutritional care data through medical record documentation system.
    • Participates in physician and health care team interdisciplinary rounds.
    • Serves as the consultant on nutrition care.
    • Coordinates activities in the diet office as needed.
    • The registered dietitian is expected to adhere to Orlando Health policies, procedures, guidelines, mission and vision statements, and commitment to excellence.
    • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
    • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
    • Provides nutrition education and in-service to patients, families, and health care team members.
    • Reviews current scientific findings to update menus, hospital formulary, diet manual, and standards of care for specific patient population.
    • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to assess patient’s nutritional requirement and specific needs appropriate to the age of the patient.
    • Knowledgeable in medical nutrition therapy for appropriate nutrition related care of patients.
    • Participates in clinical Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
    • Represents Orlando Health through outside speaking engagements to the community.
    • Provide the care needed as described in all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
    Qualifications:

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).
    • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) registration and State of Florida licensure required.
