Position Summary: 

The Dietician position assists in the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services. The Dietician will assist in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities; including patient care, non-patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital related activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition and weight management plans
  • Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and ongoing patient education
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed
  • Document clinical notes and patient outcomes accurately in the medical record
  • Collaborate with surgeons, providers, and clinical staff as part of a multidisciplinary care team
  • Support patients before and after surgical procedures with evidence-based nutrition strategies

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential
  • Active Illinois state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and weight management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative healthcare team
  • Prior clinical or healthcare experience preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish (required)
