About this role:
The Registered Dietitian is responsible for assessing nutritional needs and developing care plans for the patient population in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. This role provides nutrition education to persons served and correctional staff while serving as a nutrition resource within the facility. Working under the direction of licensed medical leadership, the position collaborates with healthcare staff to support nutritional care and counseling. The role also ensures required documentation, reporting, and compliance activities are completed accurately and on time.

Must have a current (and must maintain) an unrestricted Registered Dietitian license
What you bring to the table:
Education
- High school and specialized training for licensing/certification(s)
Experience
- One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian
- Experience within a correctional/detention facility preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Current (and must maintain) unrestricted Registered Dietitian license in state of practice
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
- Current (and must maintain) lifesaving ACLS certification through AHA preferred
What you will do:
- Conduct nutritional assessments, develop care plans, and document findings in accordance with state regulations and facility requirements.
- Provide nutrition counseling, education, and instruction to patients, high-risk participants, and staff as needed.
- Collaborate and consult with healthcare personnel and physicians to support patient nutritional needs.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of required nutrition service plans and updates.
- Support staff orientation, training, and interview processes as needed while serving as a nutrition resource.
