Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of recent full-time experience as a Registered Dietitian in:
- Acute care
- Nursing home
- Inpatient rehab
- LTACH setting
- Experience must be within the last 5 years
- Trained in NFPE (Nutrition Focused Physical Exam)
- Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition
- Strong knowledge of nutrition therapy and clinical documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- ICU experience preferred
- Candidates with less recent experience (within past 8 years) may be considered case-by-case
Job Description:
The Registered Dietitian functions as a nutritional consultant and clinical resource for the healthcare team. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive nutritional care including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, education, and follow-up for patients across clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments using patient history, anthropometric data, lab results, medical tests, and NFPE findings
- Identify nutrition diagnoses and develop individualized care plans
- Provide nutrition interventions including:
- Meal planning
- Supplements
- Enteral nutrition
- Parenteral nutrition
- Nutrition counseling and education
- Monitor patient outcomes and evaluate effectiveness of nutrition interventions
- Assess food tolerances and nutritional intake adequacy
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic diets and nutrition plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in in-service training, nutrition seminars, and community education
- Supervise dietetic interns/students and provide clinical mentoring
- Coordinate with culinary wellness and foodservice departments
- Maintain current professional knowledge and uphold organizational standards
