Position Summary: Provides outpatient nutrition or diabetes care and education services to patients at the Life Center, at our various clinics, at the inpatient unit, at the Residential Treatment Center or via telehealth. Organizes and teaches classes related to diabetes and weight management. Collaborates with and refers to other members of the health care team to promote optimal patient outcomes.
Critical Tasks:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or a closely related field of study required. Master's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics preferred.
Completion of an approved hospital dietetics internship program or equivalent required.
2 plus years' experience as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist preferred.
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, currently registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Current Certification as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist or ability to obtain within three years of hire.
Certification in Health and Wellness Coaching preferred.
Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community or other Native American cultures and community health services.
