Position: Registered Dietitian

Location: Peridot, AZ

Pay Rate: $2300/week.

Duration: 13-week contract with possible extension

Schedule: 10 hours per day, 4 days per week (Day Shift, with occasional mid/evening shifts as needed)

Average patient volume: 9-12

Equipment: Standard nutrition and office tools; no specialized equipment required

Staff on unit: Medical Assistants - schedule patients & manage cancellations/no shows

Overview: Seeking a Registered Dietitian to provide inpatient and outpatient nutritional services at a critical access hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical nutrition experience and the ability to manage an average of 9-12 patients per day. CDCES certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) for inpatients and outpatients, including assessments, counseling, and care planning.

  • Deliver nutritional support across inpatient units and outpatient clinics (e.g., diabetes, weight management, physician-referred consults).

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in nutrition for complex and high-risk patients.

  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and maintain up-to-date patient care plans.

  • Educate nursing staff, medical personnel, students, and the public on nutrition-related topics.

  • Modify patient dietary profiles according to individual nutritional needs and preferences.

  • Conduct food service quality assurance checks and assist in menu development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience planning and managing regular or modified diets in a healthcare facility

  • 2 years of clinical nutrition experience focused on chronic disease management and nutrition education is preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Tribal Healthcare experience is highly preferred

  • Current registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; CDCES certification preferred.

  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient clinical nutrition preferred.
