Ginger Cove, a premier CARF-accredited life-care retirement community in Annapolis, is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dietitian to join our Culinary Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced dietitian who enjoys working collaboratively with nursing, culinary, and interdisciplinary teams to improve the health and quality of life of older adults.

What You'll Do:

As our Registered Dietitian, you'll play an essential role in supporting resident health through nutrition assessment, education, and collaboration with our healthcare and culinary teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Complete nutrition assessments and participate in interdisciplinary care planning
  • Review and ensure appropriate therapeutic diet orders
  • Document nutrition assessments and interventions within the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Monitor residents' nutritional status and recommend interventions as appropriate
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents and families
  • Meet with residents during meal service to evaluate satisfaction and nutritional needs
  • Assist new residents with successful dining transitions
  • Support hydration and nutrition initiatives throughout the community
  • Collaborate with nursing, physicians, speech therapy, and culinary leadership to optimize resident outcomes
  • Assist with seasonal menu development and nutritional analysis
  • Support infection prevention, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Conduct staff education and in-service training on nutrition-related topics
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field, Masters preferred.
  • Must be a registered/licensed Dietitian and maintain licensure.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, delegate and provide leadership.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Must possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with colleagues, residents, and their families.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time-frame.
